2009 Acura TL

The 2009 Acura TL uses an impressive amount of automotive aluminum in order to decrease vehicle weight and increase vehicle performance. Aluminum applications include the hood, front and rear bumper beams, cross-car instrument panel beam, front suspension subframe, rear suspension knuckles, steering hanger beam and engine. According to Acura, there is a weight savings of 51.7 pounds from the combined automotive aluminum components. This lightweight technology allows the TL to be larger than its predecessor; offer a range of safety and consumer features, and still have a curb weight that is only 85 pounds heavier than the 2008 model.
